Hyundai Gongup Begins Mass Production of Genesis 'G80' Parts Worth 50 Billion Won Annually
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Hyundai Industry will supply parts worth 50 billion KRW annually to Hyundai Motor's Genesis.
On the 26th, Hyundai Industry announced that it has signed a supply contract for major interior parts such as seat pads, armrests, headrests, and backboard panels for the new Genesis brand 'G80' and has started full-scale mass production. The company stated that the contract is for about 74,000 units annually, worth 50 billion KRW, and it is expected to secure a total of 250 billion KRW in new sales over the next five years.
A Hyundai Industry official evaluated, "The backboard panel, which was first applied to the Genesis G90 model, has firmly established itself as a new item by being applied to the GV80 and now the G80 model," and added, "Currently, discussions for additional orders of the backboard panel, which has a high unit price, are ongoing, so the sales proportion of this item is expected to steadily increase."

He continued, "The GV80, launched in January this year, has recorded a cumulative contract volume of 21,000 units as of last month, enjoying great popularity. With the addition of the new G80, the popularity of the Genesis lineup will continue," and said, "Hyundai Industry also expects double-digit sales growth this year as new orders for premium models, led by the Genesis brand, continue."
