Ahn Hyun-mo: "My Aunt Was a Simultaneous Interpreter During the Gulf War and Queen Elizabeth's Visit to Korea"

On the 25th, MBC's 'Radio Star' aired a special episode titled 'Your Body User Manual,' featuring Yoon Eun-hye, Hong Hye-gul, Ahn Hyun-mo, and Lee Seung-yoon. During the broadcast, Ahn Hyun-mo surprised viewers by saying she attended elementary, middle, and high school all in Korea.
Ahn Hyun-mo said, "My maternal grandfather was fluent in three languages and taught me English news. My aunt is a famous interpreter who interpreted during Bill Gates' visit to Korea, and a cousin of my father, whom we call 'gomo' (aunt), was the first person to make the interpreter profession a hot topic in our country."
She continued, "My aunt also interpreted when Queen Elizabeth visited." Ahn Hyun-mo's aunt is interpreter Lim Jong-ryeong.
She added, "My aunt is affiliated with the World Association of Interpreters, and there are only about ten such people in Korea. I never thought about becoming an interpreter when I grew up, but when I met my aunt in elementary school, she said, 'I hope you become a woman with a professional career someday.'"
