Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education and Gwangju-Jeonnam Bakery Association Sign MOU for 'Hope Donation Store'
46 Local Bakeries Join... Expected Budget Savings and Revitalization of Neighborhood Commercial Areas
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Jang Hwikuk) announced on the 25th that it has signed a business agreement with the Korea Confectionery Association Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch (Branch Chief Kim Youngok) to operate the ‘Gwangju Hope Donation Stores’.
This agreement was promoted to support the efficient operation of the Gwangju Hope Classroom.
A total of 46 local bakeries expressed their intention to participate in educational donations.
According to the agreement, teachers operating the Gwangju Hope Classroom project will receive a price discount when paying with the Hope Classroom corporate card at the 46 bakeries.
The agreement also includes contents such as establishing an organic cooperative system between the two organizations and promoting the activation of donation store operations.
It is expected to greatly contribute to reducing the operating budget of the Hope Classroom and revitalizing the local neighborhood economy through the participation of donation stores in the local bakery industry, which had a small number of donation stores until now.
Superintendent Jang Hwikuk said, “I hope this business agreement will serve as an opportunity to encourage participation of various local industries in Hope Donation Stores, helping to foster and spread a culture of donation,” and added, “We will continue to expand the number of stores that can be used during teacher-student joint activities to support teachers operating the Hope Classroom to carry out more activities.”
