[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Cho Myung-rae, Minister of Environment, reported assets worth over 2 billion KRW.
According to the high-ranking public officials' asset registration published in the official gazette by the Government Ethics Committee on the 26th, Minister Cho's total assets amount to 2,242,830,000 KRW.
Among these, real estate was valued at 1,290,000,000 KRW, accounting for 57.5% of the total declared assets.
Minister Cho owned a 1,040,000,000 KRW share of the Gwangjin Trapalace apartment in Jayang-dong, Seoul, co-owned with his wife, and a 250,000,000 KRW leasehold right for the Jigok Apartment in Choeup-dong, Busanjin-gu, Busan, registered under his second son.
The total amount deposited in financial institutions was 889,970,000 KRW. Under Minister Cho's name were 454,280,000 KRW, his wife held 308,010,000 KRW, his eldest son 96,610,000 KRW, his second son 9,240,000 KRW, and his grandson 21,820,000 KRW in deposits.
