Maintaining a close cooperative relationship with Dongdaemun-gu (District Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) to prevent community transmission of COVID-19, the Dongdaemun-gu Medical Association has supported weekend shifts at the Dongdaemun-gu Public Health Center's screening clinic.
As community infections have prolonged and the public health center's screening clinic operates 24 hours a day, the physical exhaustion of the health center's medical staff has increased, raising concerns about manpower gaps. In this context, the manpower support from the Dongdaemun-gu Medical Association has been a great help.
Thanks to this, the health center's medical staff have been able to rest and then return to work.
Jeon Jun-hee, the former director of Dongdaemun-gu Public Health Center, also rolled up his sleeves and joined the medical volunteer efforts.
In particular, on March 15, seven volunteers from the Dongdaemun-gu Medical Association worked in shifts to conduct large-scale testing of about 600 PC room users who had visited a confirmed case location, greatly assisting with specimen collection.
One doctor who participated in the medical volunteer work expressed gratitude to all Dongdaemun-gu staff actively responding to the COVID-19 situation and stated their commitment to take the lead in preventing and controlling the spread of COVID-19 as a local healthcare professional.
