COVID-19 Cases Surpass 9,000 After 64 Days Since Outbreak (Update)

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea surpassed 9,000 on the 24th, 64 days after the first patient was reported.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on the same day, the total number of confirmed cases in the country increased by 76 from the previous day, reaching 9,037. Additional cases in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, and the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions were 20 and 32, respectively.
By region, Daegu had the highest number with 31 cases, followed by Gyeonggi (15), Seoul (4), Busan (2), Incheon (1), Chungbuk (1), Gyeongbuk (1), and Gyeongnam (1). Twenty cases were also confirmed during quarantine procedures.
