Daegu and Gyeongbuk Superintendents of Education Join 30% Salary Cut ... "Sharing Citizens' Pain"

On the 24th, Kang Eun-hee, Superintendent of Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education, announced that she will return about 12 million won, equivalent to 30% of her annual salary, for the next four months. Superintendent Kang said, "I hope this will be a small help to the citizens of Daegu who are going through many difficulties due to COVID-19."
The Daegu Office of Education decided to conduct a fundraising campaign separately from the superintendent.
Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education, also announced on the same day that he will join the salary return campaign. He plans to return 30% of his salary for four months to support the purchase of daily necessities for vulnerable students.
