From Today, Pregnant Women and Disabled Veterans Can Also Purchase Masks on Behalf of Others
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] Starting today, pregnant women and disabled veterans among national merit recipients are also eligible for proxy purchase of public masks.
Yang Jin-young, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, stated at the regular briefing on the 23rd, "We have prepared improvement measures through discussions among related ministries to expand the scope of proxy purchases for people who find it difficult to visit pharmacies directly," announcing this.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety judged that the five-day mask distribution system has been stably established. However, since production is still insufficient, along with expanding proxy purchases, measures have been prepared to supply masks to students after school reopening.
The government plans to supply 2.84 million small masks and 1.53 million medium and large masks to ensure that students can attend school safely in preparation for the reopening of elementary, middle, and high schools on the 6th of next month.
Also, families living overseas can send up to 8 masks per month. This applies per recipient, with a purchase limit of 2 masks per person once a week.
For pharmacies, weekday supply quantities have been adjusted by region. By region, 300 masks are supplied in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi; 200 masks in Daegu, Gyeongbuk, Jeonnam, and Jeonbuk; and 250 masks in other regions.
