View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea increased to a total of 8,961 as of the 23rd.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that the number of confirmed domestic cases increased by 64 compared to the previous day as of midnight. Additional patients in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, and Daegu, Gyeongbuk regions were 20 and 26 respectively.
By region, Daegu had the highest number with 24 cases, followed by Gyeonggi (14), Seoul (6), Chungbuk (2), Gyeongbuk (2), Busan (1), Sejong (1), and Gyeongnam (1). 13 cases were also confirmed during quarantine procedures.
