Seodaemun-gu Public Health Center Screening Clinic

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] On the 22nd, three COVID-19 cases were confirmed among residents of Seodaemun-gu.

Among them, two are a 57-year-old woman, Ms. A, living in Geukdong Apartment, Hong Eun 1-dong, and a 47-year-old woman, Ms. B, living in Byeoksan Apartment, Hong Eun 1-dong.

These two had a meal together on March 8 at the home of Mr. C, a call center employee of an insurance company located in Guro-gu.

After Mr. C, the call center employee, tested positive at the Seodaemun-gu Public Health Center screening clinic on March 11, Ms. A and Ms. B, who were contacts, visited the Seodaemun-gu Public Health Center screening clinic on March 12 for COVID-19 testing, and both tested negative.

Continuing their self-quarantine, the two underwent another test at the Seodaemun-gu Public Health Center screening clinic on the 21st before their quarantine was lifted, and both were confirmed positive on the morning of the 22nd.

On the afternoon of the 22nd, Ms. A was transferred to Seoul Metropolitan Seobuk Hospital in Eunpyeong-gu, and Ms. B was transferred to a residential treatment center set up by Seoul City at Taereung Athletes' Village.

The other confirmed case is a 20-year-old Korean male with Australian nationality (a student studying in the U.S. residing in Sinchon-dong). He entered Korea from Pennsylvania, USA, on the afternoon of the 21st. Due to coughing symptoms, the Incheon Airport quarantine office collected a specimen and confirmed his positive diagnosis, which was reported to the Seodaemun-gu Public Health Center on the 22nd. This confirmed case was transferred to Seoul Metropolitan Seonam Hospital located in Yangcheon-gu.
