4th Industrial Revolution Committee 3rd Term Launches... "Expanding Participation of Women and AI Experts"
[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] The Presidential 4th Industrial Revolution Committee announced on the 22nd that it has completed the appointment of 20 private members and has begun activities for its third term.
The third-term committee consists of a total of 26 members, including 20 private members and 6 ex officio government members.
The third-term private members include an increased participation of women and AI experts. It is also characterized by having younger experts with an average age of 45.
Newly appointed private AI experts from academia and industry include Professor Kim Kyung-baek of Chonnam National University, Professor Kim Jong-min of Kangwon National University, Professor Oh Hye-yeon of Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), and Park Myung-soon, unit head at SK Telecom. The 4th Industrial Revolution Committee's list also includes healthcare, mobility, and blockchain experts from academia and industry such as Professor Park Yu-rang of Yonsei University, Vice President Lee Dong-gyu of Kakao Mobility, and Advisor Kim Hwa-jun of Coinplug.
The 4th Industrial Revolution Committee is an inter-ministerial AI committee that deliberates and coordinates follow-up implementation plans for the government's 'AI National Strategy' announced last year. It plans to deeply address topics such as regulatory innovation to enhance AI competitiveness, improving the general public's ability to utilize AI, and enhancing data accessibility for AI popularization.
