60s Female Public Employee at Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Building Tests Positive for COVID-19 (Update)
[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] A woman in her 60s in Sejong has tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Sejong City announced on the 22nd that A, a cleaning staff member working at the Government Sejong Complex Management Headquarters (a woman in her 60s residing in Jagae Village 12 Complex, Jungchon-dong), tested positive for COVID-19.
This is the second confirmed case of COVID-19 at the Complex Management Headquarters, and it has been confirmed that all infected individuals have been working in the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries building where a cluster infection occurred.
A worked on the 4th floor of Building 5 of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, while a male cleaning staff member in his 50s from the Complex Management Headquarters, who tested positive the previous day, worked in the basement of Building 5 in Dunsan-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon.
The city plans to transfer A to a nearby hospital and conduct an epidemiological investigation into her movement paths and contacts.
The Complex Management Headquarters urgently disinfected the entire Building 5 of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, as well as the break rooms mainly used by cleaning staff, the underground work area, and the freight elevator. Colleague cleaning staff who worked with A have been instructed to undergo COVID-19 testing while in self-quarantine.
