ADB Annual Meeting Postponed to September Due to "COVID-19 Impact"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The Asian Development Bank (ADB) Annual Meeting has been postponed to September. The venue will remain as originally planned in Songdo, Incheon.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance on the 20th, due to the global spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), it was finally agreed to postpone the schedule originally set for May 2 to 5 to September 18 to 21.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance officially requested the postponement of the ADB Annual Meeting after prior consultations with the ADB and coordination with related ministries since the end of last month, and the postponement was confirmed through the final approval of the ADB Board of Directors on this day.

Heo Jang, Director General for International Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, stated, "Considering comprehensive factors such as supporting companies' overseas expansion and securing opportunities for high-level economic cooperation, we decided on postponement within the year rather than cancellation." He added, "Considering that ministerial-level meetings will be held at the September Annual Meeting, we expect it to be a successful conference."
