[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority urgently closed the G Tower building in Songdo International City on the 20th to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced that the Songdo G Tower building will be voluntarily closed for three days until the 22nd.
This measure follows two employees of international organizations residing in G Tower who recently traveled on a business trip to Geneva, Switzerland, and subsequently tested positive for COVID-19 on the 18th and 19th.
In particular, it was confirmed that one of the two confirmed cases visited the office in G Tower on the 17th, the day after returning from the overseas business trip, prompting preemptive measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Accordingly, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority urgently closed the main building of G Tower, which houses the economic authority and international organizations, on the morning of the same day and began disinfection and sterilization of the entire building.
During the building closure period, Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority employees will work from home, while about 50 essential personnel will relocate their workplace to Art Center Incheon to continue working.
