Volkswagen Korea Begins Delivery of 2020 Tiguan 4WD Model... Price Set at 47.57 Million KRW
Three Tiguan Lineups Including Front-Wheel Drive Models 2.0 TDI Premium and 2.0 TDI Prestige
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Volkswagen Korea announced on the 20th that it has started delivering the 2020 Tiguan all-wheel-drive model, the 4Motion Prestige, and is strengthening the Tiguan lineup.
With the addition of the 2020 Tiguan 2.0 TDI 4Motion Prestige model, Volkswagen Korea now offers a total of three Tiguan trims: the front-wheel-drive 2.0 TDI Premium, 2.0 TDI Prestige, and the new 4Motion Prestige.
The 2020 Tiguan 4Motion Prestige is equipped with the ‘4Motion Active Control’ system, exclusive to all-wheel-drive models, and Volkswagen’s next-generation ‘Active Info Display.’ The 4Motion Active Control allows the driver to select from four driving modes?Onroad, Offroad, Offroad Individual, and Snow Driving?via a button located on the center console.

View original imageAdditionally, the next-generation Active Info Display features higher resolution graphics and improved visibility compared to the previous generation. Its intuitive display design allows key driving data such as driving distance, average speed, and average fuel consumption to be viewed simultaneously on a single screen rather than separate menus. This functionality is maintained even when the engine is off, enabling the driver to conveniently check information with minimal steering wheel button operation.
Furthermore, the 4Motion Prestige model is equipped with a 'Hill Descent Control' system, enhancing driving stability. The wheel design has been updated from the previous generation’s gray color to a bright silver color.
Stefan Krap, Head of Volkswagen Division at Audi Volkswagen Korea, stated, "We have added the all-wheel-drive model to the Tiguan lineup reflecting customer needs for various driving environments and lifestyles. Going forward, under the 5T strategy, Volkswagen Korea will build a strong SUV lineup with the Tiguan, Touareg, and upcoming SUV models."

Meanwhile, Volkswagen Korea has reduced prices across all models currently on sale following the government’s extension of the individual consumption tax reduction for automobiles. Accordingly, the 2020 Tiguan’s selling price has been lowered by KRW 1,321,000 to KRW 41,179,000 for the Premium model, and by KRW 1,387,000 to KRW 44,113,000 for the Prestige model. The newly introduced 2020 4Motion Prestige model is priced at KRW 47,570,000, reduced by KRW 1,430,000.
