Hwasun-gun Supports 'Agricultural Management Funds' Amid Prolonged COVID-19 Pandemic
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Young-gyun] Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 19th that it will provide ‘COVID-19 Disaster Countermeasure Management Funds for Affected Farmers’ to support farmers struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and to stabilize management in the agricultural sector.
The county has been accepting applications for management fund support since the 18th, and the application deadline is until the COVID-19 situation stabilizes.
The agricultural disaster countermeasure management fund is a system where the NongHyup provides low-interest loans (1.8%) of up to 50 million KRW to farmers affected by COVID-19.
The loan period is one year and can be extended for one year (three years for orchard farmers).
Eligible recipients include farms that have difficulty conducting normal farming activities due to quarantine from confirmed or suspected COVID-19 infection, farms unable to carry out normal production or harvesting due to disruptions in securing domestic or foreign agricultural labor assistance, and others.
