'Black Widow' Release Delayed Due to COVID-19 Spread
Disney Delays North American Release Schedule... Live-Action 'Mulan' Premiere Also Postponed
[Asia Economy Reporter Jonggil Lee] The Marvel Studios film "Black Widow," originally scheduled to be released next month, has postponed its premiere. Distributor Walt Disney Company Korea announced on the 18th that the release of "Black Widow" would be delayed due to the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The company also postponed the film's North American release, which was planned for May 1. This decision came after local theater chains AMC and Regal Cinemas closed their screens and suspended movie showings. Disney has also temporarily postponed the release of the live-action film "Mulan," which was scheduled to be released at the end of this month. Other Hollywood films have been similarly affected by COVID-19. The release date of "Fast & Furious 9" has been moved from May to April next year, and the new 007 series film "No Time to Die" has been delayed from April to November.
