China Reports 1 New COVID-19 Case in Hubei and 12 Imported Cases (Update)
[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Park Sun-mi] On the 17th, China reported 13 new COVID-19 confirmed cases and 11 deaths in one day.
On the 18th, the National Health Commission of China (NHC) announced that as of midnight, there were 13 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in China. Only one new confirmed case was added in Wuhan, Hubei Province, known as the origin of COVID-19. The remaining 12 cases were imported from overseas. Guangdong Province reported 5 cases, Beijing 3 cases, Shanghai 3 cases, and Sichuan Province 1 case, totaling 12 imported COVID-19 cases in one day.
The number of new deaths recorded was 11, all patients from Hubei Province.
So far, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in China is 80,894. Among them, 69,601 patients have recovered and been discharged, and 3,237 have died. Currently, 80,056 confirmed patients are receiving treatment in hospitals. The number of suspected cases is 119, and the number of close contacts under medical observation is 9,222.

The cumulative number of imported cases has also increased to 155. Outside mainland China, in the Greater China region, a total of 257 confirmed cases have been reported: Hong Kong 167 cases (92 discharged, 4 deaths), Macau 13 cases (10 discharged), and Taiwan 77 cases (22 discharged, 1 death).
