Gyeonggi Economic Science Institute Significantly Strengthens Online Education for SMEs
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency is providing 'online education' for employees of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) who find it difficult to attend in-person training due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
This education program was prepared to continuously promote human resource development activities for SMEs by supplementing the reduced in-person training caused by the spread of COVID-19 with online education that has no time or space constraints, offered free of charge to SME employees.
The courses include ▲Basic job skills (human resources, marketing, humanities, etc.) ▲Advanced job skills (organizational management, tax knowledge, communication methods, etc.) ▲Common essential competencies (sexual harassment prevention education, disability awareness improvement, information security, etc.) ▲Fourth Industrial Revolution topics.
The education runs from this month through December, and it is possible to select and take multiple courses simultaneously during this period.
Eligibility to apply is limited to employees of SMEs, and one-person entrepreneurs are also eligible. Applications can be made on the GBSA Academy website (www.gbedu.or.kr).
The Gyeonggi Economic Science Agency expanded the support scale from 1,000 people last year to 1,500 this year in anticipation of increased demand for online education due to COVID-19. The start of the education was also moved up by one month from April to March.
