Jungnang-gu Chaeknarae and Jihyeui Sup School Libraries Open to Public
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) held a business agreement ceremony on the 17th regarding the opening of school libraries at Junghwa Middle School and Bonghwa Middle School.
Through this agreement, the ‘Chaeknarae Library’ at Junghwa Middle School and the ‘Jihyeui Sup Library’ at Bonghwa Middle School will operate as community open libraries, allowing any local resident to use the libraries during open hours and participate in various reading programs.
The opening hours are ▲Junghwa Middle School: weekdays from 3 PM to 8 PM, Saturdays from 10 AM to 6 PM, and ▲Bonghwa Middle School: weekends from 10 AM to 4:30 PM.
Since 2019, Jungnang-gu has been promoting the ‘School Library Remodeling Project,’ supporting it with 620 million KRW, and has remodeled a total of four school libraries to date.

Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, stated, “We will spare no effort to support the creation of a ‘10-minute distance library’ environment by opening school libraries so that all Jungnang residents can access books nearby. Going forward, Jungnang-gu aims not only to improve facility environments but also to foster youth emotions through spatial changes, and plans to continue implementing this.”
