On the 18th, LG Electronics announced that it will release the 2020 model 'LG NanoCell AI ThinQ' TV domestically and sequentially introduce it to major overseas markets such as North America and Europe.
NanoCell is a technology that applies ultra-fine particles about 1 nanometer (nm, one billionth of a meter) in size to the TV panel. The fine particles coated on the LCD panel adjust the wavelength of light emitted from the backlight, enabling more detailed and accurate color expression. According to the company, NanoCell technology absorbs the wavelengths of yellow and orange to produce the purest red closest to reality, enhancing pure color expression.
The main models of LG NanoCell AI ThinQ are equipped with a third-generation deep learning-based artificial intelligence processor that learns the characteristics of video and sound. It analyzes and optimizes the original video quality and sound by itself.
Users can use the AI Homeboard function built into the product to check the status of home appliances linked to the TV at a glance and easily control them. Supporting AI voice recognition, users can control the TV and connected appliances with a single voice command and search for weather, stock information, and more.
LG Electronics has been using the 'LG NanoCell TV' brand overseas since 2017 for LCD TVs applying its proprietary NanoCell technology. Starting this year, the company plans to expand the 'LG NanoCell TV' brand domestically to maximize synergy effects.
LG Electronics has significantly increased the number of ‘LG NanoCell 8K AI ThinQ’ models compared to last year. Domestically, the 75-inch model will be released first this month, followed by the 65-inch model next month. The 4K resolution ‘LG NanoCell AI ThinQ’ will be available in various sizes including 86, 75, 65, and 55 inches.
