"China Factory Operation Resumption Rate Exceeds 90%"

On the 17th, according to the Chinese state-run Xinhua News Agency, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of China stated in a briefing that "as factory operations resume sequentially, nationwide electricity consumption has noticeably increased."

The NDRC said, "The factory operation resumption rate nationwide, excluding Hubei Province, has exceeded 90%," adding, "Zhejiang Province, Jiangsu Province, Shanghai, Shandong Province, Guangxi Province, and Chongqing City have already approached 100%." It also explained, "As of the 16th, China's electricity consumption recorded 17.8 billion kWh, an increase of about 9.9% compared to 16.2 billion kWh at the end of February."
