On the 17th, after announcing transportation pledges in front of the Chinese Cultural Center in Jongno, Seoul, Hwang told reporters, "If possible, we will try to create a normal sister party as planned and envisioned."
The possibility of the United Future Party having its own proportional representation arose because the sister party and satellite proportional party, the Future Korea Party, placed the United Future Party's recruited talents outside the winning proportional representation list in the candidate selection.
In response, as voices of dissatisfaction emerged within the United Future Party, Gong Byung-ho, chairman of the candidate selection committee, explained on his YouTube channel, "It is understandable to feel disappointed, but it is objectively difficult to understand the backlash," adding, "The talents seen by the United Future Party and the six members of the candidate selection committee, including myself, inevitably differ, so different results were bound to come out."
It is also known that Leader Hwang expressed dissatisfaction with the candidate selection committee's proportional representation nominations.
When asked whether he planned to convene an emergency supreme council meeting of the United Future Party regarding this, he replied, "There is no such situation," adding, "It is a situation where the Future Korea Party needs to take necessary measures." Amid ongoing dissatisfaction with the United Future Party's candidate selection across various regions, when asked for his opinion as the overall campaign committee chairman, he said, "When conducting reform candidate selection, many people suffer and face difficulties," adding, "If we split and divide, it will only help the Moon Jae-in administration that we are supposed to be fighting against."
