On the 17th, Ahn Byung-oh, head of the Changwon City COVID-19 Response Comprehensive Situation Room, held a briefing at the city hall press center to announce the status of additional confirmed cases and Changwon City's COVID-19 response situation.
According to the city, Changwon case number 24 (Gyeongnam case number 85) is a man in his 30s who returned on the 13th after traveling in Europe, including Italy, from the 24th of last month to the 12th of this month. His cohabiting spouse tested negative.
The confirmed patient had symptoms of cough and sore throat starting on the 15th, underwent specimen collection at the Changwon Public Health Center screening clinic on the 16th, and was finally confirmed positive around 7 p.m. that day. He is currently receiving treatment after being transferred to Masan Medical Center. Disinfection of the patient's residence and movement paths was completed on the 16th.
