Trump: "COVID-19 Crisis Could End by August" (Update)
[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] U.S. President Donald Trump on the 16th (local time) predicted that the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) situation could end in the United States by July or August.
President Trump attended a White House press conference of the COVID-19 response task force on the day and announced new guidelines related to COVID-19, including suspending gatherings of more than 10 people for the next 15 days and refraining from using restaurants and bars.
When asked when the COVID-19 situation in the U.S. would end, President Trump said, "If we do a great job, the crisis will be over by July or August." He also added, "It could last longer than that."
Regarding the possibility of expanding curfew measures implemented in some states and cities nationwide, he replied, "We are not considering it." About airlines facing crises after the spread of COVID-19, he stated, "It is not their fault," and pledged to support them 100%.
