244 Billion KRW Scholarship Support for Outstanding Talent in Humanities, Social Sciences, Arts, and Physical Education
Ministry of Education and Korea Student Aid Foundation Support 1,940 People
92 Billion Won Increase Compared to Previous Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The Ministry of Education and the Korea Student Aid Foundation announced on the 17th that they will provide a total of 24.4 billion KRW in scholarships to nurture outstanding talents in the humanities, social sciences, arts, and physical education fields.
The Outstanding Student National Scholarship is a scholarship program supporting outstanding students in the humanities, social sciences, arts, and physical education fields at domestic four-year universities. This year, the budget increased by 9.2 billion KRW compared to the previous year. The selection scale also nearly tripled, from 640 students last year to 1,940 students.
Selected scholarship recipients, chosen according to the participating universities' own selection criteria, will receive full tuition and living expenses. Depending on the university recommendation ranking, which considers student capability and economic status, students may receive tuition support only.
The Humanities 100-Year Scholarship will newly select a total of 1,500 first- and third-year students enrolled in humanities and social sciences departments at domestic four-year universities this year. The Arts and Physical Education Vision Scholarship will newly select a total of 440 first- and third-year students enrolled in arts and physical education departments at domestic four-year universities.

Students wishing to apply can do so on the Korea Student Aid Foundation website by the 13th of next month, and universities can apply for program participation through the Korea Student Aid Foundation university administrator financial aid system. Detailed schedules will be announced on the Korea Student Aid Foundation website and through each university.
