Disclosure of Real Names of Officials in Policy Decision and Execution Process
‘Citizen Application Real-Name System’ Strengthening Policy Real-Name System Accepting Applications Until the 31st of This Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Yeosu City in Jeonnam announced on the 16th that it will accept applications for the 'Citizen Application Real-Name System,' which strengthens the policy real-name system, until the 31st of this month.
Yeosu City has enhanced administrative transparency and accountability through the policy real-name system, which discloses project names, background information, and the names of those in charge.
The scope of disclosure has been expanded to include major projects closely related to residents' welfare and daily life, such as construction or projects over 1 billion KRW and research or service contracts over 50 million KRW.
Additionally, the city operates the Citizen Application Real-Name System this year as well, which discloses information upon citizens' requests for specific projects.
The application period is from the 13th to the 31st of this month, and disclosures will be made after review by the Policy Real-Name System Deliberation Committee.
Applications can be downloaded from the city’s website, filled out, and submitted to the Planning and Budget Division, or sent by mail (1, City Hall-ro, Yeosu City) or email (desally08@korea.kr).

A city official stated, “We expect that the policy real-name system and the Citizen Application Real-Name System will guarantee citizens' right to know and further strengthen the transparency of policies and the accountability of public officials,” adding, “We will strive to enhance the reliability of administration.”
