Gwangju Seobu Fire Station Launches Fundraising Campaign Amid COVID-19 Spread
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Seobu Fire Station (Chief Kim Youngdon) has started a voluntary fundraising campaign to help citizens struggling due to the spread of COVID-19.
According to Seobu Fire Station on the 16th, 254 people including firefighters, public service workers, and contract workers participated with one heart and one mind in the fundraising held from the 11th to the 13th.
The 3 million won raised will be delivered to the Community Chest of Korea to be used for securing public safety in COVID-19 affected areas, supporting frontline medical staff, and those in self-quarantine.
In addition to the fundraising campaign, the fire station is making every effort to prevent COVID-19 by ▲flexibly operating fire-related civil administration ▲providing fire prevention consulting for storage facilities of quarantine supplies ▲operating dedicated ambulance teams for infectious (suspected) patients ▲regularly disinfecting ambulances responding to COVID-19.
