Seoul City Conducts Disinfection and Quarantine at Homeless Welfare Facilities by 19 'Jahwal Business' Sites
Expanding Jobs for Vulnerable Groups... Company Information Published Online for Citizens Who Want to Use Them
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] On the 16th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it will actively utilize 'self-sufficiency enterprises' specializing in disinfection and quarantine work to disinfect welfare facilities in Seoul and increase job opportunities and work for vulnerable groups in the city, pursuing a twofold benefit project.
The city has been implementing self-sufficiency projects that support low-income vulnerable groups who can work to become independent by fostering their abilities, acquiring skills, and providing quality jobs. Currently, there are a total of 19 self-sufficiency work groups and self-sufficiency enterprises affiliated with the Seoul Regional Self-Sufficiency Centers.
When the crisis alert level for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was raised to 'Severe,' the city strengthened disinfection and quarantine of welfare facilities directly used by Seoul citizens to prevent the spread of infection within the community and protect citizens.
Starting this month, 19 self-sufficiency enterprises (self-sufficiency work groups and self-sufficiency enterprises) from 14 autonomous districts in Seoul were deployed and completed the first round of disinfection at 34 homeless welfare facilities, which are relatively vulnerable to external viral and bacterial diseases.
Seoul also published an online list of 19 self-sufficiency enterprises (self-sufficiency work groups and self-sufficiency enterprises) for citizens who want to disinfect and quarantine living spaces such as general homes or stores but find it difficult to obtain information about service providers.
Citizens who wish to use the service can refer to the Seoul Welfare Portal (http://wis.seoul.go.kr) and the Seoul Metropolitan Self-Sufficiency Center (http://www.sjahwal.or.kr) websites and contact each enterprise directly to apply.
