Replaceable filter face masks with verified effectiveness of KF80 or higher
Planned purchase to distribute thermal imaging cameras
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education has prepared an emergency supplementary budget proposal for the provision of masks and support for thermal imaging cameras in relation to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and submitted it to the city council.
On the 16th, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it has prepared the first supplementary budget proposal for the 2020 Seoul Special City Education Expense Special Account, amounting to 10.1239 trillion won, which is 39.2 billion won more than the original budget. The supplementary budget will be reviewed by the city council on the 24th.
Through this supplementary budget, the education office will provide all students in kindergarten, elementary, and secondary schools with three washable cloth masks per student, each equipped with replaceable filters verified to be at least 'KF80' effective. Each mask includes four filters. Regarding thermal imaging cameras, since support is planned through the government supplementary budget for schools with more than 300 students, the education office will purchase and provide cameras for schools with 300 or fewer students. Additionally, the budget allocates funds for purchasing quarantine supplies such as hand sanitizers and thermometers for schools at all levels.
