Heavy Snowfall in Gangwon Yeongdong Amid Blizzard Warning
[Asia Economy Reporter Sung Kiho] A heavy snow warning has been issued for Yeongdong, Gangwon Province, where about 10 cm of heavy snow has accumulated on the 15th.
According to the Gangwon Regional Meteorological Administration, the amount of snow accumulated by 9 p.m. on the day was 11.8 cm in Seongsan, Gangneung; 10.5 cm in Imgae, Jeongseon; 5.7 cm in Yongpyong, Pyeongchang; 4.8 cm in Taebaek; 3 cm in Daegwallyeong; and 1 cm in Bukgangneung.
Inland Yeongseo also saw snowfall with 2.9 cm in Mahyeon, Cheorwon; 1.4 cm in Seoseok, Hongcheon; 0.6 cm in Cheorwon; and 0.4 cm in Yanggu.

Heavy snow is expected to continue in Yeongdong until dawn on the 16th. The expected snowfall by the morning of the 16th is 5 to 20 cm in Yeongdong and 1 to 5 cm in Yeongseo.
