Jungnang-gu Fully Supports Free Brokerage Service for Low-Income Residents
Full Brokerage Fee Support for Lease Deposits Under 100 Million KRW... Nationwide First Free Brokerage Service for Low-Income Residents Supports 1,404 Households with Over 150 Million KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is expanding and supporting the 'Free Brokerage Service for Low-Income Residents' to ensure housing stability and reduce economic burdens for low-income residents.
The 'Free Brokerage Service for Low-Income Residents' is a service that supports brokerage fees incurred when households receiving National Basic Livelihood Security, child-headed households, or severely disabled households enter into jeonse or monthly rental contracts.
Reflecting the increase in jeonse and monthly rental prices, from March this year, unlike last year, the eligibility criteria have been raised from a jeonse or monthly rental deposit of 75 million KRW or less to 100 million KRW or less. This is expected to allow more low-income residents to benefit.
Low-income residents wishing to receive support only need to report their move-in at the local community service center without a separate application. The responsible public official directly verifies this and operates a collaborative system that applies for payment on their behalf. Once eligibility is confirmed, the Jungnang-gu branch of the Korea Association of Realtors or the district office deposits the full brokerage fee to the beneficiary.
Jungnang-gu was the first in the nation to implement the free brokerage service for low-income residents in 2009. Since 2010, it has signed a separate agreement with the Jungnang-gu branch of the Korea Association of Realtors and has been promoting the 'Free Brokerage Service for Low-Income Residents' for 11 consecutive years. As a result, up to last year, a total of 1,404 households and over 150 million KRW in brokerage fees have been supported, achieving the highest amount nationwide.
