EBS to Strictly Crack Down on Copyright Infringement of 'Pengsoo' Character
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] EBS has expressed a strong intention to crack down on copyright infringement of the 'Pengsoo' character.
On the 13th, EBS announced that it recently signed a 'Copyright Infringement Crackdown Contract' with the brand protection specialized law firm, Miju Law Office.
EBS and Miju stated, "We have already analyzed information on individuals and organizations infringing copyrights through online and offline investigations and identified distribution channels of infringing products. Based on this, we have decided to take full-scale sanctions."
EBS plans to conduct on-site crackdowns at export-import traders' warehouses, manufacturing factories, and more in collaboration with government agencies in the future.

EBS warned, "Infringers who unlawfully use the copyright of 'Pengsoo' may face criminal penalties under the 'Copyright Act' and the 'Unfair Competition Prevention Act,' as well as civil liability for damages."
