Governor Lee Jae-myung's mother, Mrs. Gu Homyeong, passes away
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gu Homyeong, the mother of Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, passed away on the afternoon of the 13th at the age of 88.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the same day, "Lee's mother, Gu Homyeong, passed away around 3:30 PM," adding, "The funeral hall has been set up in Room 1 of the Seongnam City Funeral Hall."
Lee decided not to receive condolences or floral tributes. Lee's mother had been receiving treatment in the intensive care unit at Gunpo Jisaem Hospital.
Lee had expressed special affection for his mother several times, referring to her as "my sky."

The funeral will be held on the 15th, and the bereaved family includes Lee and his four brothers and one sister. Lee is the fourth of seven siblings, including his late older brother (Lee Jae-seon) and sister.
