Traffic Police Officer in Ulsan Caught Driving While Intoxicated
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Seulgi Kim] A police officer in charge of traffic duties was suspended from duty after being caught driving a vehicle while intoxicated.
On the 13th, the Ulsan Jungbu Police Station announced that Sergeant A, affiliated with the Traffic Division of the Ulsan Metropolitan Police Agency, was booked without detention on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act.
According to the police, Sergeant A was caught driving his passenger car in an intoxicated state in front of a convenience store in Buk-gu, Ulsan, around 3 a.m. that day, following a citizen's report. A citizen found it suspicious that Sergeant A's car was not driving straight and reported it to 112.
At the time, Sergeant A was reportedly at a level equivalent to license cancellation.
