View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea increased by 110 on the 13th, bringing the total to 7,979.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on the day, the number of confirmed domestic cases increased by 110 compared to 4 p.m. the previous day. The additional patients in the Seoul metropolitan area and Daegu-Gyeongbuk region were 22 and 65, respectively.
Notably, the number of additional patients in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region fell to double digits for the second consecutive day. By region, Daegu had the highest number with 61 cases, followed by Sejong (17), Seoul (13), Gyeonggi (7), Gyeongbuk (4), Incheon (2), Daejeon (2), Ulsan (2), Chungnam (1), and Busan (1).

The number of recovered patients exceeded 500. The number of patients who were declared recovered and released from quarantine was 510, an increase of 177 from the previous day. The death toll rose by one during the same period, reaching 67.
