View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Yang Nak-gyu] A prototype of a dry decontamination device developed by the Agency for Defense Development (ADD) will be deployed at sites dealing with the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
According to the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) on the 13th, Administrator Wang Jeong-hong visited the ADD located in Daejeon, Chungnam, the day before and instructed to support the disinfection of the negative pressure rooms at the Armed Forces Medical Command using the dry decontamination device prototype.
The dry decontamination device was developed by ADD with an investment of 3.5 billion KRW over three years starting in 2013. It was developed to enable decontamination of electronic equipment and communication devices of weapon systems used by our military when contaminated by chemical agents. While our military possesses equipment capable of detecting North Korea's biological weapons, such as the biological toxin surveillance system, biological reconnaissance vehicles, and portable weapon diagnostic kits, this is the first time a decontamination device has been developed using domestic technology.
