Malaysia Bans Entry and Transit of Travelers from Korea Starting the 13th

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Malaysia announced that starting from 0:00 on the 13th (local time), it will block the entry of foreign travelers from Korea, including Koreans, to prevent the influx of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
According to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Malaysia on the 12th, the Malaysian government prohibits entry and transit of nationals from three countries?Korea, Italy, and Iran?as well as all foreigners arriving from these countries.
However, visitors holding Korean, Italian, or Iranian nationality who reside in other countries and have no record of visiting their home country within 14 days prior to arrival are allowed entry. In this case, during Malaysian immigration inspection, they must prove on their own that they have not visited any of the three countries within 14 days while residing abroad.
The Malaysian government has banned entry from Hubei, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu provinces in China, and blocked entry of foreigners who have visited Daegu and Cheongdo in Korea; Hokkaido in Japan; Lombardy, Veneto, and Emilia-Romagna in Italy; and Tehran, Qom, and Gilan in Iran within the past 14 days.
