Police Arrest 30-Year-Old for Wielding Weapon at Jongno Language Academy
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The police have requested an arrest warrant for suspect A (31) in connection with a stabbing incident at a language institute in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
The Jongno Police Station in Seoul announced on the 12th that they have applied for an arrest warrant for A on charges of attempted murder.
A is accused of wielding a knife at employee B (31) on the 4th floor of the language institute at around 3:40 p.m. the previous day. A moved to the 13th floor intending to attack two other assistants with the knife but was arrested by the police. B sustained injuries to the face and chest but is reported to be in stable condition.
A reportedly stated that the attack was in retaliation for an assistant allegedly insulting him during a textbook purchase last month. However, it has not been confirmed whether the assistant actually insulted A.
