SKT-ADT Caps Launches 'Caps Smart Village'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] SK Telecom announced on the 12th that it will launch ‘Caps Smart Village,’ a service combining essential smart home functions and security services for apartment environments, in collaboration with ADT Caps.
Recently, many companies have been providing various Internet of Things (IoT) and security services for residents’ convenience, mainly in newly built apartment complexes. However, customers have experienced inconvenience due to services being offered with different standards by each company.
To resolve these customer inconveniences, SK Telecom and ADT Caps combined ADT Caps’ security services with SK Telecom’s apartment complex IoT platform, ‘Smart Home 3.0,’ into a single service called ‘Caps Smart Village.’ For residents’ convenience, a dedicated app was prepared, allowing all smart home and security-related services to be accessed through one app.
The biggest feature of ‘Caps Smart Village’ is the integration of existing smart home functions with the security system. ‘Caps Smart Village’ is designed to allow easy application for services that previously required visiting the management office, such as ▲dispatch and patrol requests within the complex ▲strengthened security requests for long-term absence ▲visitor vehicle reservation management ▲community reservation management, all through the dedicated app.
Through this, residents of complexes applying ‘Caps Smart Village’ can use various security services simply by running the app, without separate visits or phone calls.
Additionally, ‘Caps Smart Village’ enhances the convenience of apartment residents by providing various IoT functions of SK Telecom’s existing ‘Smart Home 3.0.’ The main functions offered by SK Telecom’s ‘Smart Home 3.0’ include ▲control of home IoT devices and built-in devices through AI ▲automatic access to shared entrance doors ▲parking location confirmation ▲unmanned parcel arrival notifications ▲voting within the complex.
ADT Caps also provides strengthened apartment-tailored security services such as ▲integrated security system ▲intelligent CCTV ▲vehicle management ▲fire detection. SK Telecom and ADT Caps plan to continuously expand customer value by applying additional services to ‘Caps Smart Village,’ including ▲information security services ▲Caps Home Door Guard security services ▲T map parking.
Jinhyo Park, Head of SK Telecom’s Security Business Division and CEO of ADT Caps, said, “With growing consumer interest in residential convenience and security, we have introduced ‘Caps Smart Village.’ SK Telecom and ADT Caps will continue to create a safe and convenient living environment and lead the home IoT ecosystem.”
