S-OIL Donates Funds to Support Migrant Women Victims of Domestic Violence
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] On the 11th, S-OIL delivered a donation of 50 million KRW to the Korea Migrant Women’s Human Rights Center at its headquarters in Gongdeok-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, as part of a support program for multicultural families to help migrant women victims of domestic violence.
The Korea Migrant Women’s Human Rights Center is a non-profit private organization that provides counseling, education, and psychological therapy activities for migrant women residing in Korea, and operates shelters where migrant women victims of domestic violence and their children can stay.
The donation supported by S-OIL will be used to provide daily necessities to migrant women leaving the shelter to help them become independent, and to support professional counseling workers who are migrant women specializing in interpretation/translation to assist migrant women with legal counseling and social reintegration.

S-OIL began sponsoring as the first private company in 2013, when social interest and support for migrant women’s human rights issues were poor, and has donated a total of 400 million KRW up to last year.
