First 'COVID-19' Recovered Patient Reported in Seongnam
[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The first person to recover from the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has emerged in Seongnam City, Gyeonggi Province.
Seongnam City announced on the 11th that patient A, the first confirmed COVID-19 case in the city, was discharged after being declared fully recovered 14 days after hospitalization on the 10th.
Patient A was the first confirmed case in Seongnam, diagnosed on the 25th of last month, and was transferred to Myongji Hospital on the same day, where they received isolated treatment in a negative pressure room. Patient A tested negative for the virus twice on the 9th and 10th.
The city transported patient A to their home on the afternoon of the 10th using a health center partitioned vehicle and added that their current health condition is good.
Since February 7th, the city has been conducting daily health monitoring by matching each self-quarantined individual with a public official on a one-to-one basis.
On the 10th of this month, a citizen who was under self-quarantine delivered a thank-you letter to the public official who visited to collect support supplies from those released from self-quarantine, expressing gratitude for the careful health care provided during the period.
As of 9 a.m. on the 11th, there are 18 confirmed cases in the Seongnam area.
