Hankook Tire Extends Official Sponsorship of Australia's National Rugby League
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hankook Tire & Technology (hereinafter Hankook Tire) announced on the 11th that it has extended its official sponsorship partnership contract with Australia’s National Rugby League (NRL) through the 2020 season.
The NRL is considered the world’s premier rugby league and one of the three most popular sports in Australia. Every year, about 3 million spectators visit the stadiums, and over 100 million fans watch the games on TV. Since first signing an official sponsorship contract with the NRL in 2011, Hankook Tire has showcased premium brand marketing to rugby fans in Australia, New Zealand, and worldwide.
Through this contract extension, Hankook Tire plans to carry out various marketing activities as the official sponsor of the NRL during the 2020 season, promoting Hankook Tire’s brand story, premium products, and services throughout the stadiums hosting the NRL Premiership Series, State of Origin Series, and Final Series games.
The NRL will kick off its season on the 12th, with a total of 16 teams competing across Australia and New Zealand for the championship. The final winner will be decided at the grand final held on October 4th at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
