According to China Central Television (CCTV), President Xi visited Wuhan on the day and said, "Hubei and Wuhan are the places that determine the victory or defeat in the fight against this epidemic," adding, "There have been positive changes in the prevention and control situation in Hubei and Wuhan, and important phased achievements have been made. The goal of stabilizing and transitioning the situation has been preliminarily achieved."
However, he said, "The prevention and control task is still difficult and arduous." President Xi emphasized, "At times like this, we must stay highly vigilant and prioritize epidemic prevention and control as the most important task," and "We must never relax our vigilance in prevention and control work. We must win the defense battles of Hubei and Wuhan."
