On the 5th, Gyo-nam-dong held a 'Portable Hand Sanitizer Delivery Ceremony' with Paranmum Pharmacy. Paranmum Pharmacy, headquartered in Gyo-nam-dong, delivered 120 portable hand sanitizers to Gyo-nam-dong, asking that they be used to prevent COVID-19 among low-income residents in the area, including elderly people living alone with weakened immunity.
Also, on the 6th, Ihwa-dong held a 'COVID-19 Relief Supplies Sharing Event' with Dongsung Church located in the area, receiving 50 relief boxes. The relief boxes contained food items such as instant rice, ramen, bottled water, and masks worth a total of 4 million won, prepared with donations collected by volunteers from Dongsung Church. Samcheong-dong, together with the Samcheong-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee, distributed hand sanitizers to 200 stores within Samcheong-dong on the 5th and 6th. Due to the decrease in tourists caused by COVID-19, small business owners and residents facing difficulties received hand sanitizers from Samcheong-dong and the Residents' Autonomy Committee.
Donations also continued in Hyehwa-dong from daycare centers and churches. ‘Myeongnyun Daycare Center’ located in Myeongnyun-dong delivered 30 hand sanitizers, 30 masks, and 150,000 won in cash, collected from coins saved by the children during 2019, to Hyehwa-dong, asking that they be given to children in difficult living conditions.
‘Malgeunmul Gaon Church’ donated 500,000 won to be used for elderly people struggling due to COVID-19. The district plans to use this donation for delivering side dishes to low-income elderly people with limited mobility.
Additionally, ‘Grace Church’ donated hand sanitizers to Hyehwa-dong, and ‘Hyesung Church’ delivered snacks and fruits to the staff of Jongno-gu Public Health Center.
