Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education Prepares Support Measures for Quarantine Supplies and Academy Operations
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Amid ongoing national efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19, the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education and the Jeollanam-do Branch of the Korea Academy Federation (hereinafter referred to as the Academy Federation) have agreed to actively cooperate to protect children's health from COVID-19.
According to the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education on the 10th, on the 9th, Jeonnam Superintendent of Education Jang Seok-woong and Academy Federation Chairman Lee Jae-hak, along with other officials, held a meeting at the main office to discuss COVID-19 prevention and support measures for academy operations.
The Academy Federation proposed ▲supporting quarantine supplies for academies (private institutes) and tutoring centers ▲temporary allowance of non-face-to-face online classes ▲establishing support measures for academy operations to ensure survival ▲conducting consolation-type guidance inspections.
The Provincial Office of Education plans to mobilize contingency funds to prioritize the provision of quarantine supplies such as hand sanitizers and hand sprays to academies and tutoring centers, and to actively recommend to the Ministry of Education, through the nationwide Council of Superintendents of Education, guidelines and countermeasures related to non-face-to-face online classes.
Additionally, to support the operation of academies (tutoring centers) facing livelihood difficulties due to closures, they will send a cooperation letter urging local governments to actively encourage landlords to participate in 'good rent' (rent reduction).
