Bulgaria Reports First COVID-19 Cases... 4 Confirmed Patients
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] On the 8th (local time), the first confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were reported in Bulgaria, a Balkan Peninsula country on the Black Sea coast. On the same day, four confirmed cases were identified simultaneously in Bulgaria.
According to major overseas media outlets, Todor Kantardzhiev, director of Bulgaria's National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, stated that "two male patients were confirmed in the northern city of Pleven, and two female patients were confirmed in the central city of Gabrovo."
The Bulgarian government plans to hold an emergency meeting on the day to discuss additional measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
