[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] Health authorities announced that there are currently 59 severe cases of COVID-19 patients, of which 36 are in critical condition.
On the afternoon of the 7th, Kwak Jin, head of the Epidemiological Investigation Team 1 at the Central Disease Control Headquarters, stated, "Among the 6,767 confirmed cases, 59 are in severe or higher stages," adding, "There are 23 patients in the severe stage and 36 patients in critical condition."

Kwon Jun-wook, deputy head of the Central Disease Control Headquarters, said, "Based on overseas cases, about 80-81% of all patients are mild cases, and the rest are severe or higher. Depending on the patient's age and underlying conditions, the illness gradually progresses to severe or critical stages. As the number of patients has increased to over 6,000, the number of severe and critical patients has also risen."
