View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, has decided to undergo testing for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). Since he had visited sites within Gyeonggi Province where there were concerns about COVID-19 infections, he is reportedly taking the test as a precaution.
A Gyeonggi Province official stated on the 6th, "Governor Lee has decided to take the COVID-19 test," adding, "The results could come out as early as tomorrow."
Governor Lee has been visiting COVID-19 related sites within the province and directing public officials on-site. He visited the Bundang Jesaeng Hospital in Seongnam City, where multiple confirmed cases occurred the previous day, and on the 2nd of this month, he went to Gapyeong-gun's 'Pyeonghwa-ui Gungjeon' to collect specimens from Lee Man-hee, the leader of Shincheonji Church. On the 25th of last month, he also visited the Shincheonji headquarters in Gwacheon City to directly obtain the list of followers.

Governor Lee reportedly decided to undergo testing due to concerns from those around him about possible infection. A provincial official explained, "(Since he is) the head of Gyeonggi Province's quarantine efforts, this is to clearly confirm his status."
