KOSPI Closes Down 2% at 2040 Level... KOSDAQ Also Falls 1%

On that day, the KOSPI closed at 2040.22, down 45.04 points (2.16%) from the previous session.
The KOSPI opened at 2053.09, down 32.17 points (1.54%) from the previous trading day, and maintained a weak trend.
In the securities market, individual investors net bought stocks worth 789.6 billion KRW, while foreigners and institutions net sold 564.5 billion KRW and 261.3 billion KRW, respectively.
By sector, chemicals (-2.28%), machinery (-1.49%), and distribution (-2.58%) declined.
Among the top 10 companies by market capitalization, none saw their stock prices rise. Samsung Electronics (-2.25%), SK Hynix (-2.42%), Samsung Biologics (-1.11%), Hyundai Motor (-3.07%), and Celltrion (-2.47%) all fell.
On the same day, the KOSDAQ also dropped more than 1%. The KOSDAQ closed at 642.72, down 7.47 points (1.15%) from the previous session.
The KOSDAQ opened at 642.33, down 7.86 points (1.21%) from the previous close, and continued its downward trend.
In the KOSDAQ market, individual investors net bought 216 billion KRW. Meanwhile, foreigners and institutions net sold 144.8 billion KRW and 55.8 billion KRW, respectively.
By sector, entertainment and culture (-3.83%) and IT components (-1.61%) declined, while textiles and apparel (+2.74%) and pharmaceuticals (+0.73%) rose.
